On Wednesday, September 12, Worcester Business Journal held their annual Awards Event called "40 Under Forty." Each year, the Worcester-area magazine chooses 40 people under the age of forty, who are thriving, up-and-coming in business, and who do positive things for and within their communities. Some might call them "game-changers."
This year, WBJ opened up the nomination period from October through May, where anyone could nominate an eligible business leader. (as the social media person on board at Team Pelletier Properties, I will take credit here and say that I was the one who nominated my boss, Nick Pelletier, and submitted in writing all the answers to their questions as to why he should be selected.)
Of the record 206 nominations that were entered, 40 were then chosen by the panel of judges. All honorees must work in Central Mass, live in Massachusetts, and be under 40 years old. This week, members of Team Pelletier, along with family and colleagues, were honored to attend the Awards Event to watch as Nick was called up to receive his Award and his recognition. Below are a few pictures from the event, along with some highlights of what went down:
Above: The set-up at the start of the event, which took place at the historic Mechanics Hall in downtown Worcester. As always, the architecture and artistry of this well-known theater and hall is legendary.
Below: The company logo at the Reserved table for friends of Nick Pelletier and Pelletier Properties.
Below: Some of the honorees pictures inside the program. We think the dude in the bottom row, right corner might look a bit familiar ...
Below: Two of the Realtors on Team Pelletier Properties; Josh Mello (left) and Dan Reiser (right), supporting their Team Leader and company President.
Below: Hey, that's me! And also, a guy whose head was cut off by my awful phone-selfie-taking-skills, Team Leader and CEO of Keller-Wiliams North Central, Mark Kavanaugh.
Below: Here's a guy whose head was NOT cut off - Nick Pelletier - on the big screen, as the MC describes his achievements and he gets ready to make his way onto the stage.
Below: The big moment. Nick receives his Award, and has his picture taken by a REAL photographer that is not me. He was the 5th one of the 40 to receive his award, which is why the stage looks so bare.
Below: This is what the stage looked like after more honorees received their recognitions and awards.
Above: Honoree Victor M. Archila, Owner and President of VMA Electric Inc, showing off his special skill for the crowd: walking on his hands.
